Old map showing the Hatton estate.

Hatton Hall and the Hatton Estate were sold by auction at the Hind Hotel on May 30th.1883.

At the time the house and the estate was owned by Wiliam Blott and
William Woolston.

It was described in the sale document as:

"A freehold mansion called Hatton Hall.
Occupier Samuel Tetley Esquire.

The Hall is a handsome structure in the Elizabethan style of architecture. It is built of Weldon stone and red sandstone with Weldon stone facings, and is approached from High Street and Broad Green by a carriage drive.

Pleasure grounds, tastefully adorned by evergreens and lofty trees."

The Auctioneer was Pendered and Son.
Redwell Stores 1910
Postcard of the Redwell stores at the    beginning of the last century. Its not       clear from the image but the sign over   the window says W.E.Huckle. A              forerunner to the shop in the High          Street which shut a few years ago.
